Re: 2006 VW GTi Review
I would def. prefer that too, especially because for a 2nd car I can't afford a new GTI.
We may as well accept the fact that VW will never have enough sense (or perhaps are too lazy) to bring a small car over.
Actually, the last rumour I heard was.....To bring a cheaper car into the market, rather than bring the fox or Polo, they were going to keep the mk4 around and strip it down (how much more can you strip down a base golf, they have nothing!) and use that as their "base model" . Quite possibly the dumbest proposal i've ever heard. I mean, who would buy that? It will be so fat and slow it will probably barely move under it's own power. Unless, they strip it right down except for say a 1.8T, then, it might be "ok".
Sorry for the rant.Jay

That is the most retarded thing I've heard in a long time. I would lose all respect for VW if they did that.
Present
2010 Audi A4 S-Line
2007 VW GTI 2.0T
Past
2003 VW Jetta GLI
1992 VW Jetta GL
1984 VW Rabbit GTI

Re: 2006 VW GTi Review
I had a chance to drive a Polo (or maybe a Lupo) a few years ago when I worked for a VW dealership. Small but fun to drive. Apparently, Transport Canada was doing some testing on them. I was really hoping to see them on the Canadian market, but I guess it's not happening. Too bad...

Re: 2006 VW GTi Review
Even VW head honcho Bernd Pischetsrieder recently referred to the current fourth-generation GTI as "a joke" …
HAHAHHA
that made my day.
