  • Good local body shops?

I'm looking for a good body shop to do some repairs to my Saturn. (What was I thinking buying a Saturn???) Anyways, the rear bumper has a warp in it and Saturn won't replace it, but they might authorise a shop to repair it.

So, since I'm still kinda new to Calgary, if anyone can recommend a body shop, it'd be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Back when I had a jeep Superior autobody on 17th Ave did a fantastic job when I was T-boned. No complaints, and very thourough(sp?) work.

Also, I'm getting the rear bumper on my golf done at SOS autobody this Tuesday (was rear ended, they're just refinishing the bumper); so I'll let you know how their work is as well. They were a bit cheaper than Superior, and could get me in much sooner (that was the selling point.).

Any tips would be appreciated. I guess price isn't a huge concern for me since Saturn "said" they'd pick up the bill. I'll believe it when I see it.

I bought a new car to get rid of the problems that I was having with my Mk2 Jetta turbo. Unfortunately, I seem to have a whole different bunch of problems with this car. What was I thinking buying an American car??? I miss my Mk2.

The place we use at work is called Pet Autobody but I believe they mostly do heavy duty stuff but they do really good work

Oddly enough, the Saturn dealership recommended me to Calgary Coachworks. Good to hear good things about them. I'll try to post some pics of my my rear bumper to see if you guys think it's a repairable thing.

                    Re: Good local body shops?

I just got my car back from SOS this Friday, and was very impessed with the work they did on my rear bumper. Looks as good as new, and the guy I was dealing with there (Log Ngo) has been extremely helpful, making sure that I understand what they did, and why they did it and so on. I would definetly recommend SOS.

                      Thanks for the advice guys!

I took my car to Calgary Coachworks and the bumper is not repairable. It needs to be replaced. Looks like I'll have a nice uphill battle with GM Canada.

Can anyone recommend a good lawyer??? LOL

Interesting, I went to SOS to get a quote for my 951, and I dealt with Log Ngo... he was a total stuck-up ******* to me. He argued and argued about how they had to drill holes in a panel to pull the dent when they could just reach around the other side, etc.
He's the reason that they didn't get my business.

What exactly did they do with your bumper and what kind of work needed to be done? Someone bumped the rear passenger side of my bumper. Looks as though the paint/clearcoat is cracked a bit and there is some scuff that could probably be buffed out. I actually spoke to Loc as well, Jeremy from SFC recommended him, he said it would be about $650 but told me to think about it for a few weeks and bring it in if it still bothers me. Its pretty much only cosmetic and he said a lot of people would leave it... But I'm not a lot of people.
