Got new rubber, keeping stock arms. But I don't get how to remove the blades. I have a habit of breaking things so I thought I'd ask. Do you pry the metal ends away from each other or use pliers to pull them out??
If you have this kind of wiper (first pic), you pinch the plastic part inside the hook arm (middle of the second pic). Then slide the plastic piece off the hook. It may kinda push into the wiper blade part, but it slips off.
Hope that helps.

Think I misunderstood. Service manual says for replacing the rubber wiper inserts:
1. Free end of wiper insert from retaining hooks be squeezing metal strip in insert with pliers.
2. Slide rubber insert from retaining hooks.
3. Slide rubber insert into lower retaining hooks of wiper blade.
Note - If necessary transer metal stips from old insert to new insert. Notches in metal strips must face rubber and engage rubber lugs in groove.
4. Squeeze metal strips at open end of rubber insert using pliers and install insert into hooks so that hook engages in rubber retaining slot on insert. The retaining slot is near the end of the blade.

That sounds about right - wasn't sure if I was to squeeze the two clips or pull them apart. Pulling seems to make more sense, but I will try tomorrow. Thx!
