Torque and HP limits on Tiptronic

Hello, just joined and really enjoying the site

I have a 2002 Jetta 1.8T, all stock right now but I'm hoping to change that.

I was thinking about getting and Unsolute or APR chip, but I am concerned that the Tiptronic cannot handle the added Torque.

Any thoughts?

The Tip is fine with the Torque from either chip, I have done a few and all my customers are very happy.

Yes welcome to the board I think there is someone on here with a chipped Tip 1.8T so I am sure you will have no problems and they can convince you to join the darkside!

Tips can handle up to a K04 kit..after that if you wanted say an APR stage 3 kit you will have to do alot of upgrading on the tranny but a standard ECU upgrade will be fine for u

I have a chipped 2003 1.8T ... Simon did an awesome job! Now im looking to put in a 2.5" Brullen Downpipe a new n75 valve and a diverter valve.
