  • Changing Plates (Registry & Tickets)

I got the plates changed on my car, and forgot to put the new plate on right away. I got pulled over, and the cop gave me a $230 ticket for "misuse of a plate". Does anyone know how long you have to change your plate on your car?
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

LOL, what a ridiculous ticket! Now don't you all feel safer knowing that Colin isn't out freely misusing his plate? We can all sleep better now I'm sure

Colin, I had a similar ticket once for not updating the address on the back of my drivers license after moving. I think it was the same 14 day window or whatever.

If you actually change the registration, you have to change the plates right away.
If you bought a new car, there used to be a 14 day exemption, but I can no longer find it in the new traffic safety act.

you have 14 days to get it home after purchase you cannot drive for
14 days..and it's to your dwelling only, not for work or pleasure.
