  • how much to do this?

if i want to ask for a body shop to paint a set of rims from white to black or silver, how much would you think it will be>?

i saw a set of 19's somewhere and it looks like an incredible deal to me, but they are white, i want to paint them to other color...

i read from this forum that somebody have one set done powdercoated... what is the difference in quality, price and finish? please help!1

powdercoating lasts longer, paint chips off

Assuming that the wheels are alloy, you can have them chemically stripped and painted/clear-coated any color of your choice. It'll cost $110+ per wheel. The finish should be as good/durable as stock (from what I've heard).

Yep, they just mask off the lip. That's what Ryan did with the last set of wheels on his Jetta.

you can powder coat to whatever color you want..

they spray the entire wheel down with paint stripper so you lips get sorta damaged because the clear coat gets removed howerver they tape them up and then powdercoat the rest.. then you pull the tape off do a little bit of elbow love and your lips will be shinier than they were before.. its basically like having iforged polished alumimum lips.. you have to keep taking care of them but it's worth it

                  Ryan:

when you get your wheels done, is the powdercoating end up with a glossy smooth surface similar to paint?

yes looks exactly like paint other than the fact you can smash it with a hammer, etc and the color wont' go away..

uhh just look up calgary powdercoating in the yellow pages or google it they have a website their location is like 2 blocks away from concept1 so its really easy to get to.

unforuntately no discount but it's pretty cheap IMO for what you get so..
