  • Weitec Coilovers?

Anyone know if these are any good? Im not in need of a high end set i just want something that lowers my car a little more.
I can get my hands on a new set of the Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers for under 850$ total but cant find much info on these.

Tonnes of guys on vortex use Weitec, they are supposedly good but stiff
REAL men use harsh language as self-defense

Their springs are not bad but the dampers are not up to the quality. At the end you’ll get what you paid for.

Honestly, I think most guys go for the Weitecs over the FK's anyway, so I wouldn't be too upset, you could try and upgrade to a better set of Weitecs maybe (I know cost is a major factor) but I think you'll be happy with them.

Edit: I've looked into these as well, there is a company in Quebec that sells them, he's been using them for rally and says they are bullet proof, I've also talked to a guy on Vortex that installed them on his 3 series and absolutely loves them.

If you think you'd be interested I could get you the shop and you could call them. I think they start around 800-900 and compared to a similar Weitec (with the helper spring for example) they run cheaper. One of the coolest things about them is that they are fully rebuildable in 20 minutes. Also, I think the helper spring and resevoir make running really low more tollerable (not as bone jarring).

Ok I FINALLY remembered. Here's the original link, there's a bunch of info in there. Don't let the 1500 scare you off I think they actually do a few different styles. Also, it looks like they are also TUV approved which is never a bad thing.

I'm actually looking to see if there is a place in Calgary also as they are quite popular among the Rally crowd now so a place like Guyons (if they are still around) may carry them.

Sorry for the delay it's been a bit crazy but hope that helps. Even if you just call and ask about them they are quite knowledgable.

                Good luck!
