    Re: New Car options

Quattro is pretty useless in Ontariario. They put so much salt on the roads, there's only 2 or 3 days where you actually drive in the snow. Not worth the premium, IMO. Plus, it's 1 to 2 L/100km worse mileage! Pretty crappy deal considering how the car would be used (for me) 95% of the time to and from work (10 min drive).

Gimme an A3 2.0T with DSG. mmmmmm! I'm hoping to convince my wife that this will be our "family car"

      Re: New Car options

i added another to my list.. e46 330ci as the release of the e90 has literally destroyed thier resale pricing which is good news

      next week i'm going to test out the 330ci, 225 TT, A3 2.0T, and B7 A4 1.8t
i also must remember that i will be chipping all of the above models which will help. I know the B7 A4 is going to be the slowest of them all and the A3 probably the fastest.

Truthfully my only practicality of them is the option to fit 2 sets of golf clubs into the thing. I know I can do that with a 225TT coupe but not the roadster.. and obviously with the rest..

          Re: New Car options

damnit so doing some investigating into the models.. 225 TT obviously based on the Mk4 chassis.. so pretty much a turbo R32... i loved my Mk4 so honestly no complaints here.. the TT will pretty much be my jetta with more power, awd, and better seats since i had the hids, audi cluster, etc in my jetta

the B7 A4s are a new build from the B6 (which is also really nice) come with the updated full color LCD cluster which is pure bling and come with a indash Nav package which is sick looking.. you can get the oem votex s-line body kit which is nice but no sport seats!! which is totally lame.. although you can swap over B7 rs4 or S4 seats/wheel anyday which is nice!

I found a sick nogaro blue B5 S4 in the trader for 25k! with 2tone seats and all.. it has 87k on the odo but i know the turbos are probably crap and that'll cost me 10gs to stage 3 the bad boy but oh my would it be a fun car..

B7 audi cluster! this thing is bling.. does it make the car.. no.. but it is very cool

                Re: New Car options

so i went and tested out some cars today

                i drove the new B7 A4 2.0T 6spd

very nice car.. not as nice as the B6 but i like it alot.. the 2.0T engine is pretty damn good the car despite it's weight.. it has active steering like the mk5s which makes it feel really cool.. the seats suck ass.. well you need sport seats thats all.. lots of nice features overall.. quattro is nice! totally sucks up corners without the sport suspension even...50k pricetag and no s-lines in town.. special order only.. weak

next i took out a used 225 ALMS TT.. pearl red paint with white leather!! special colors, etc can't get it like that anymore.. has 18" RS4 wheels that are awesome looking
power is nice! its the good old 1.8T baby! felt a bit quicker or on par with my chipped jetta.. it handles awesome! very sporty for sure.. i love this car alot.. the seats had some wear on the bolsters which is common with any sport seat tho..

finally a 330CI.. the one i wanted with the M package sold that morning.. LOL okay whatever.. anways..
BMW gimme a break!! nice exterior but inside sucked ass! my jetta was nicer! the woodtrim was a little too 'old manish' for me.. the clutch was awful to get used to for sure.. the tranny was nice.. the motor had enough juice tho.. i couldn't even drived a 325 or 320 they'd be so slow.. the handling is nice tho.. RWD is pretty nice to drive again.. but overall i was very dissapointed with the 330ci.. blech!

so so far things will be TTerrific! dunno about the ALMS gonna see if audi CPO will get a car from another province.

                  Re: New Car options

I really dig the 330 interior. The seats beat the crap out of jetta seats, the dash is well laid out for drivin' and you dont have to get wood trim (they have alum. packages)

everything in those cars is tight, no squeaks and rattles...thats what I love about their interior

that being said, audi interiors are on par or better than BMW imo..also, Ive driven a 325 and found it to be powerful enough (less than a 24v, same as a 12v) but would obviously perfer the 330 when looking if funds permit

ya, but what are you comparing them to? Standard seats in a jetta? le e46 wins hands down, standard seats in a GTI/GLI , they also win hands down IMO (unless we're talkin OEM recaros which may be more comfortable)

I find the e46 3 series seats to be super supportive (unless the 330xis only came with sport seats and I dont remember the seats in the 325 I drove)

these were on par with standard vw seats IMO.. the car i drove didn't have leather either it was pleather i could tell it felt like crap.. but the seats were supportive.. they only had 1 M3 on the lot and it was SMG so i didn't bother with it..

i'm pretty much sold on the TT i just have to hunt down the one i want now

                            Well guys,
I'm in T.O right now and I went to visit my buddy Ian. He works for VW/Audi and had access to a 3.2 A3. Naturally we had to go out and run the **** out of it. All I can say is wow!! I've driven the 2.0T with DSG but it seems sooo much better with the paddles and the VR!!! Anyways, it felt like it was carved from a solid block of granite. I guess most Audis do!! If you have the means I would highly suggest you think about it! Then again, we all know I'm a VR fan!
                            Cheers
