k now revo has its chip out

    262hp and 302tq.!!!

and here is an interesting post on vortex dynoing a stock GLI in the states then dyno again with an APR chip.

    ----------
We ran our car on a Dynopak wheel hub dyno a couple weeks back both for stock runs and chipped with 93 octane APR software.
The chart below is wheel horsepower. The solid lines are stock power and the dotted lines are chipped power - green is horsepower, blue is torque. The chart has been flattened to get both torque and horsepower on similar scale.

Stock our GLI is putting out just under 200hp (some runs it spiked just over 200 we averaged our four pulls together). Torque looks to be about 225 lb-ft if you ignore the spike around 2,400 RPM. After looking at numerous other dyno charts and talking to Volkswagen it is clear that VW has underated the horsepower of the 2.0T as there is no way the engine is putting out 200hp at the crank if we're seeing nearly 200hp to the wheels. I'd guess the 2.0T is closer to 225hp stock at the crank. My guess is that when VW ups the horsepower from the factory in another year to 230-240hp they will actually just adjust things slightly and bump the horsepower a little bit and actually market it with the actual power its making. We'll see...

Chipped it looks like our car is putting around 215hp and around 255 lb-ft of torque (ignoring the spike again at 2,400 RPM). Overall the car feels very strong and the power delivery is very smooth throughout the range. Looking at power under the entire curve, it is obvious the car is going to pull quite a bit more. We're really happy with the gains so far and look forward to downpipe and exhaust mods for the 2.0T in the future

I am not sure if there will be that many sometimes this club is more talk than action

I would like one for sure but I think 2006 is just got too many other expenses plus I would like to keep the Smart.

And as Mike said (mr. Burns) last night, with the rumours of the Polo coming here, I think it would be tempting for some to wait it out and see if it becomes a reality.

I would like to have a 2.0t for sure but it's going to be a while to save up as I refuse to sell the rabbit to help with the down payment.

hub dyno? so they took the wheels off??
also, maybe the 2.0t engine wont be reliable because there is a law saying that engines must keep their specified horsepower for at least ten years, so vw figures it will drop like 30hp over 10 years of use, can be another reason

I hope the pictures will speak for itself Bart. People who used this type of dyno said it is likely produce ‘the most accurate result’. Those machines take away the factor of wheels/tires combo has the ability to change the hp/torque, so which means the measurement is straight from the wheel. I have yet not seen one of this type of machine available in CalTown.
