2003 Passat Wagon - Anything to look out for?

So I am looking at a 2003 Passat Wagon with 1.8T. Is there anything that I should be weary of in these cars? It has 120,000km, which is higher than I would have liked but it is a pretty good deal.

I have read that there may be some issues with the fuel pumps in the 2003's.

Anything else?

yes if you see one like this then be weary of the wheels as they are not factory, and be prepared to get turning heads maybe oh and possibly can pickup hot chicks in this thing, if you can, then lots of room in the back for some "back seat bang code x" ahah?

I have had a thing for wagons the last couple of years, and I can really use the extra room lately with the business taking off and a baby on the way.

With pics like that, and the fact that my mother in law hates wagons, it is enough reason for me to go ahead an buy it.

First to look for is if any indications on sludge build up. For best is to get a pre-sale report from the dealership. After that then………..

Then last show this vid to your mother-in-law this is not a ‘Shagg-Wagon’ like what she saw in the 60’s. this is going to bling.

A little too hooptay for me. As for the mother in law, when she pays for it then she can tell me what to drive.

First one is very hot. I may have to consider the v6 4-motion passat wagon as an alternative to the Audi Allroad I was looking at. Should save me about $20k

I honestly haven't read much on the 03's, I know everyone told me to be careful with the 98 to 01's though as they supposedly had a lot of problems. you could search around clubB5 if they are still around, there's quite a bit of good info on there (and some useless stuff but you can wade through). I can't wait to see what the new Passat wagon is going to look like because the sedan is great.

No problems here with an 03! Just use synetic oil like any other German car and you will be fine.

wow... that video is hawt!

i drive a 1.8t wagon..... love it. although it's the first vw to give me lotsa warranty work. it's a great car for the dollar. interior/comfort it's like having a bimmer.
