Gas under 80 cents a litre!!

Filled up the Jetta on the weekend, for 79.9 at the Mac's beside the Crowfoot Safeway--WOO HOO!! Been a long time since gas was in the 70's!! May it long continue!!!

TDI Jetta gets what (officially) 41 mpg? And the GTI 31 mpg? I am not sure if I have those figures right... if I do then the diesel/gas gap must be closing? I heard on the radio somewhere had gas for 76.9 and if diesel is still a buck...

Yeah diesel was 101 when I filled up last week, good thing I still get 60mpg

If diesel is 101 now and gas is 76.x then I think you get the same economy in terms of miles/$ from the TDI as the 1.8T. However this is not if you fill your 1.8T with premium. Nonetheless it puts things into perspective! I think many gas powered cars do better than the 1.8T in terms of economy, and now they are cheaper to fill than a TDI!

Calgarygasprices.com shows the tsu tina station has diesel at 82.9 now

but yeah with a 25 cent difference, it takes away the advantages of driving diesel.......

What I dont get is I filled up in Edmonton and reg. was 71.9, and prem was 78.9. Calgary seems to be a little slow coming down compared to some places.
