10 months without a car in Calgary? I was without a car for 5 weeks and I went insane.
Really just depends on where you live and work, I used to not use my car much on the weekends living in the beltline, would be even easier now that I am so used to walking after 3.5 years of no car.

Truth. I lived in DT and worked in DT, but my parents lived in the NE. Car for life.

Bought a 1.8T Jetta back in 2002 and kept it until 2012 or so and bought a 2013 FR-S (which I loved). But growing kids + back seats and wanting something fun as our primary vehicle (then the SUV can become the rare once in a while vehicle).
It's a tornado red Golf R with DAP and Pretoria 19s. Winters are 215/50r17 X-Ice 3s. The digital dash is PERFECT for me. Always loved it. First non-manual car but so far I'm really liking the 7 speed DSG.
