I dunno, I haven't found a better way, but I just stick with just washing until the tire color faded on its own then had to put the stuff on every time I washed the car, sometimes more often. Hmm I think I have some pics of my old tires with the browning.

This Meguairs Endurance tire gel (in regular and high gloss) does not turn tires brown, it is the only thing I use and have been using it for nearly 3 years now and it rocks, smells like grape jelly too. It lasts long and does not discolor the rubber easy to apply with sponge!:thumbsup:
