  • EGR on an '06 1.9TDI

Thanks all for answering the fuel question. I'm buying my first tank this week. So far I have used 7/8 of a 55L tank and gone 850Km.

Next question: in pursuit of a coke free engine, I heard somewhere that the new PD TDIs cannot make use of the VAGcom EGR adjustment? FTR: It's an '06 Jetta, 1.9L, 100HP, 170Ft.lbs.

Also, is this engine an "A4" or "A5" or "??" type? No luck with NVdub or TDIclub FAQ....

    Thanks again.

I hope there is a TDI engine that coke free.

Yea. The dealership will help you.(really?) Make sure the intake carbon removal item is included in your warranty list.(you will never see such thing.) I hope you don’t need to fight hard to get that because not much TDI owners know about it.(only you know but other people who is not on the internet is still sitting inside the black-box.)

Beside TDIclub you should check out this one http://beethoven.beglobal.com/~mickey/forums/index.php

Oh no, don't send him to Mickeyland, he'll never be seen again .

Really, I think all you can do NOW to help is a better CCV system. There was someone making bolt in CCV filters (I have one ) but I think that the project died. Many others have built there own systems.

Personally, I believe that the problem will die once we get decent fuel. Without any smoke in the exhaust there are no perticles for the CCV oil to adhere to. Like I said in that other post, use Shell for now as my experience shows that it burns cleaner.

If you engine is adicted to coke it should go into rehab... I believe there has not been alot proven about intake clogging on the PD's but I would also sugest an upgraded ccv filter as it is sure to help.

What, so you saying that just injecting some extra fuel whenever the box feels like it is a bad thing
