  • Garage suggestion for an early 90's integra

My sister inlaw needs to have her oil pan replaced, as well as the spring on her hood latch. Can anyone recommend a garage (preferably in the SW or near the downtown) to do this repair for her? Dealership quoted $350 to replace, and I was able to find the part online for $125USD. I'm guessing the labour shouldn't be nearly that much since it's basically just undoing a bunch of bolts, and replacing the pan and gasket??

I bet by the time out acocunt in an oil change and atleast an hours labour it will be pretty close. That is unless the mechanic gets the parts cheaper then $125USD.

I think that was just to change the pan, oil change was extra. I'll confirm with her tonight, as I didn't see the estimate. The funny thing is that the reason it has to be replaces is stripped threads where the plug goes into the pan. She has had all her changes done at the dealership, and they won't replace the pan even though it was almost certainly one of their techs that stripped it in the first place.

I bet they esitmate over an hour, maybe up to 1.5 for the job, plus the oil change yeah, I didn't think it was too far off, but didn't want to say anything. Its still maybe a little high.
