I'm just curious as to who is paying what for a VR6....
I'm 19, been driving for 3 years, perfect record.
I've been quoted 2100 for basic comprehensive and 1M liability
or 4600 for that and 500$ deduc collision.

    It's a 99 gti vr6 (mk3). And I'm going through ING insurance.

    What is everyone else paying?
I'd like to make a statment!

If you've got some experience and a clean record insurance is cheaper in AB than SK....

yea cause she's a girl they could have vehicular manslaughter on their record and their insurance will still be cheaper than a guys.

if you want a good rate you just have to shop around.. i use RBC insurance and they rate they give me is insane compared to what others quoted.

            Re: Insurance

Should've included this....she was 28, no tickets(ever) driving a 99 bug. The Alberta insurance rate was for Calgary(highest in province) and it was still lower than sask insurance in Saskatoon.

I don't think most people would anticipate it being lower here, and I think its a rare occasion that it was. Probably partly at play was that whe'd shopped insurance co's pretty well(using Meloche Monnex).

              Re: Insurance

I didn't start paying for my own insurance until I was 22, it was $2100/year with full collision, no glass, and I think $1000 deductable. This was with a couple of speeding tickets as well, although mostly from when I was 18.

When I turned 25, no additional tickets, it went down about 50%! I think also due to recent legislation.

One word of advice using Meloche, don't get into an accident. They will make your life a living hell and rape you over a barrel without using and vacaline. I can't wait until all my accident crap is done so I can drop them faster then a speeding bullet.

                  Re: Insurance

The best rate I was able to find when I had my Talon was about $1300 though Primmum, now I have a TDI and Im at about $800. Keep in mind you can ussually get your rates down if you bump up your deductables, I don't plan on hitting anything but if I do I think thats fair to pay a bit more.

                        Re: Insurance

Meloche was fine on a totalled vehicle...no issues.

30 yrs old...one ticket in last two years...no at fault accidents...two claims(both significant) 130 per month. I think I could probably find something cheaper...

I am with Meloche Monnex too, and I would hate to deal with them if I had an accident. I don't even like calling them.

Nor do I. I had to talk to a manager as have my adjuster changed as the last guy was an @$$. Whenever I submit recipts it take about a month for them to process, let alone the fact that they screwed up at the beginning and held onto over a grand of my money right when I was buyying a house. To top it all off they want to to go see an independant doctor now, wait till they hear that they are paying for my time and milage I think they are jsut still pissed as they didn't write off my car like I told them too then they paid out the butt to repair it.

I was with Meloche for about a year an a half and they were raping me with rates and I hated their customer service. I am 19, male, Jetta 1.8T no collisions or tickets 2900/yr with Statefarm. 1M liability, 1000 collision, glass and everything else.
