Weitec coilovers have a pretty good rep last time I checked. And that's US dollars so they will be more by the time you get them here.

I would definately pony up and get the adjustable dampening ones though.

Hell yeah.... I have Weitec susp. in my 'bit. Can't really complain. That seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Can you access the adjustable part without taking the whole thing apart in the rear? If you have to take it all apart I don't know if it's worth it as not many people want to rip it all apart just to try and play with it. If you don't have to, then nevermind.

But yea, as stated, USD so exchange, duty, and depending on shipping method brokerage

              Re: are these any good?

              thanks for all your reply!

              the FK's are 1599 +GST. @C1

these are 699 X 1.20 = 838.80 and shipped to montana, pick up from sweetgrass and the drive from calgary to lethbridge... 100 on gas? plus duty is 7% so 850.00 (round up) X1.07 = 897.52...

              so close to 1000 dollars.

HPA motorsports SHS coils was on special for 999 USD ship from vancouver... so 999*1.2 = 1200+50 shipping =1250*1.07 GST = 1337.50

              so the braeakdown is:

              weitec: 1000 dollars height adj.
              HPA: 1340 dollars height adj
FK: 1710 with GST height adj (bad rep... not sure if i should opt for this most expensive option... and i will not take it to C1 for install anywaz,,,)

my opinion is that weitec make their name on the early VW model scene (MK2's and some MK3's) and they are raced-proven (kind-of)... HPA's are the ones to have because they are made by KW's and they have a very good rep tuning VW's, but the adjustment range is questionable because the tallest setting is still a 35mm drop. from what i know the weitec is 30mm. FK has not build a good rep with its MK5 program, have heard horror stories about these coils down @vortex (they were designed for GTI?? not jetta5?) so...

all comments are appreciated. and i know some of you have had experience that coils will bind = not adjustable after winter... but my question is on the above 3 choices which would you choose?

                Re: are these any good?

I had Weitec suspension back when I had my MK3 Golf. Really nice stuff. The ride was firm without being too bone jarring and it handled very well. I had the car for about 2 years with that suspension on it, including driving it in the winter (Winnipeg winter) and it held up just fine.

                  I'd opt for the Weitec.

                      Re: are these any good?

The install takes about 2 1/2 hours. The only specialized tool you need are some spring compressors. Other than that I had never done it before and it was really easy.

upon careful considerations i think i will stick to the VW sport suspension shocks with H&R springs... at least the car will be a little more forgiving with 19's... thanks for all the info! (ps: can somebody notify me for the next meet?)

                              Re: are these any good?

i will try my best to be there... thanks for the heads-up! (just got my tint done! )

stefan: is your a A5 jetta??

i was turning off deerfoot on beddinton trail, was leaving apex and stepping on gas, going 130ish on the bend and the car starts to be understeer and then oversteer just a little !!! it was a little unstable (how bad is the 17 inch michelins.... )

the remarkable thing is that this jetta give you time to react and how nice the car is on the dynamic size... my opinion is that the shocks are matching the chassis very very well but the spring is still a notch on the soft side. so my mind is set to be on the H&R...

Question, where should i get it install? dealership or elsewhere?
