  • ATP Eliminator Update

ATP has released a new manifold with stock turbo flange for transverse 1.8T's.

    http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...gory_Code=VVWM

If you read the bottom of the page, they basically say that under high HP they were cracking the stock manifolds, and that the stock manifolds could not flow enough, and could not reasonably be ported to do so.

This has lead to speculation that while testing the transverse eliminators they found out that you really do need a new manifold.

I do not think there is much point in buying an eliminator turbo with a new manifold when you can just buy a better T28 or T3 manifold and turbo.

But at the same time it also says with boost levels ABOVE stock.. meaning chipped cars as well. I think anytime you add undue stress to a stock part you are asking for trouble. Some parts may handle it better then others.. but its almost common sense that smaller things will go once you run double the stock horsepower on an engine.

Yes but I have never heard that chipping causes cracked manifolds, and there are cars that have been chipped for 5 years...

The only manifolds that I have heard of problems with are the PES ones... there are quite a few on the market that are similiar to this.. I just dont think its olely due to the Eliminators. Some people will want a better flowing manifold and have cash to burn.

yeah that cracked me up Although, it is speculation. Cracked manifolds leading to them designing a new one is quite a bit different than needing a new manifold because the old one is too restrictive.

And the main bonus I see with the eliminator is that you can use your stock downpipe (or any dp that mates to a k03/4), and stock up-pipe (pre-intercooler). Appearance remains stock, which is important to me!

waiting for dyno's. GT2X ($1300), GT25, GT28 (both $1500)...lots of options...curious what the hell the output differences are! Also curious if they post dyno's with the stock manifold vs. their new one.

          Not quite stock anymore...
