Audio Concepts is outstanding, I trust noone else.

As for Quinn...turn around, run away, and dont look back. Ever

They're the ones with the scam they run at the car shows and try to swindle you into the "enter to win a free alarm" ordeal.

            I phoned both places,
            Quinn - $900
            Audio Concepts - $500
I think Audio Concepts has a better rep aswell.

Audio Concepts are the local gods of car audio, I would trust them with anything...

just go hang out there for an hour one afternoon, they are probably cool with you watching and they usually have at least one crazy project on the go, when you see how much attention they have for details, you will want to bring your car there.

VWs are bad enough for lectrics without some newbs putting in ghetto wiring to save a few bucks. If it's a manual domestic, I might go cheap, but not with a manual VW. Audio Concepts did good on my compustar.

Even with a soggy remote after a day of rafting? hahaha

Yeah, there's tons and tons and tons of bad PR for Quinn, Audio COncepts may not always be the cheapest, but they're the BEST, when it comes to knowing WTF their doing.

                        Re: Remote Car starter

I swear I once read something on a remote starters made for mk4's, that plugs right into the OBDII port of your car.

Has anybody else heard of this?

Personally, I'd pay a bit of a premium if it just plugs in (and un-plugs )without any hassles...

                          Re: Remote Car starter

I doubt it only because it would need an immobiliser chip - then anyone could steal the car. Mine is so deep in the dash you'd have to take half the car apart to get at it. They also wire into the ebrake (that could be flagged
with odb) and they disconnect the clutch starter kill (dunno if that's in software).

That, and the FOB has like 20 foot range. Useless for a starter IMO.
