the pro-imports 020 kit is swell has custom revo software that runs stock smooth from all the reviews i've read.. and its a tq monster

If you get a K04 you can't use the term "Big Turbo". Its not allowed. :P

yeah the pro-imports has their nice equalizer kit, but for $2800US? I'm hoping for a similar setup, but with NO software. I've got a guy out here who is a dyno-tuning wizard (www.tappauto.com). Not sure if pro-imports would break up their kit like that.

I just found a guy locally selling a GT28R for $900 Cdn (no shipping! wh00t!) So to build up a kit, what do you figure the tab would be?

Manifold? Didn't DonR on vwvortex make manifolds for these turbos?
IC piping?

Turbo inlet?

I'm guessing I'd need a new DP too.

Turbo Inlet
Injectors
FMIC/Piping (optional)
Oil feed
Oil return
Oil restrictor
Gaskets
Software
Etc

Usually you can get a good idea from the prices on ATP's site.

Not sure $900 is that much less than what Clay at Kinetic can get you?

yeah, $900 isn't a screamin deal but I figure I can get him down to something more reasonable. Plus, no shipping and taxes.

I forgot about the oil lines, and s/w won't be an issue. Time to start stockpiling parts

Its all a matter of scale, you can make a nickel look way bigger than a penny, but they are both small.

Flanders, if you are looking for a manifold, you could try Arnold at PAG Parts, he kinda knows me and I really like his cast manifolds. They are custom and much better than ATP...

Or an even better idea is to try to find a used APR Stg III inconel manifold, people have been ditching them as they upgrade to bigger turbos.

A final option if you really want to go the full custom route is to get one of those Snake tubular manifolds on the 'tex, they are nice and also affordable, but they move your turbo around a bit so that regular ATP style parts will not fit, you will need custom work for things like intake, exhuast, and intercooler pipes.

I wouldn't get just a welded log manifold, the prices they go for are really not better than the prices of cast manifolds, which are generally superior (except for ATP's which sucks).

MMMMM......Turbos (sorry wish I could contribute in some knowledgable maner, but instead, i'll just post a pic). Hopefully someday I can do a cool project like a turbo upgrade (perhaps on the mustang I'm likely to aquire at Christmas)
