jeff i've been snowboarding for ever lol since i was a kid anyways.. i didn't go a ton last year so my skills probably suck but i'm alright i'm not up for the 80' tables but the small and mid ones i like to hit up.. few of my buddies are reallly good and toss down rodeos, etc which i'll never try.. as for the steep/deep i love powder runs for sure.. me and my buds used to go backcountrying all the time.. it was awesome..

I am just switching tires on the stock rims, and yes you can only get OEM steelies at this point. I do wish to get some 17s or something next spring so hopefully I can just keep this as my winter setup. I talked with Tiretrends yesterday and seems the Blizzaks are sold out so I am getting some Hankook Ice Bears now as that is all that is available.

My Roommate has Continental's on his Smart, they seem like a decent tire and he had no problems getting them.

I switched from ski to board 2 years ago and have been out a handful of times. This year I bought a seasons pass to COP to piss around in their board park if anyone wants to go one evening.

I would be down for that, I was at Lake Louise last year and they had VW sponsoring a weekend, if you drove a VW you could park your car right outside the door, it was sweet to see like 50 VW's all with roof racks.

I'd be up for going out sometime!

And Jeff, that would be AWESOME, i'm not hardcore so your board wouldn't be getting huge air or anything. I'd love to try a 64 though, the one i'm looking at is a 67 but i'm concerned that might be too long. As for bindings I have sims metal posi-links

It's super wicked for me - I drive 2 blocks, park at the top and then board down the hill to get tags. Then at the end of the night, home in 5 mins or less. That's why I just had to buy a pass this year.

I was there for one of those days. Got free lift tickets for me and my friends that were in my car too. I had a season's pass so I scalped the ticket for $40 and we all drank for free at lunch . We need an insider at each of the dealerships to let us know which day they are having it this year so we can all roll out there together and park in style!

I would be up for a day or two of skiing too, I was gonna suggest it, but I shouldn't be setting this stuff up...............

Geoff, I had to post process a bit, you should see the originals!! I was fiddling with the in camera processing, and I guess I left saturation up to +2, it really blows red to crap in direct sunlight.....anyhow, I didn't realize it until I had taken the skis out, and upped the pics, so I had to try and work with it a little.....like I said, learning and forgetting I set stuff......

Re: Whos ready for winter?? (over ambitious photos inside!)

I've been boarding for 8 years now; but was previously a skier. The only difference for me, is that I hate board parks. I'm more of a back-country rider. Actually the best boarding I've done to date was hiking the ridge at kicking horse last year.

Maybe my hatred of board parks comes from watching my bro break his wrist, heal up, then break his wrist and upper arm again the next year.

Anyhow, I would be game for a NVD ski trip......

BTW... if anyone can hook me up with a deal on bindings that would be great. My Prestons have taken a beating over the years, and I'd love to get some newer bindings.
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

Hey I found a rock chip my front hood yesterday I now have to get touch up paint. I heard there is a good place in edmonton that does chip repairs at a reasonable price, they showed them on TV here.

Now Boarding I don't do but Snow blading I do which is a blast.

There is a great place to Stay in Canmore Rocky mountain SKi Inn that had reasonable prices, or if we could get condo or something there that we all chip in for would be a blast.
