do a mufflerectomy and get a fancy tip on the end if you are buying a GLI rear

^ agreed much cheaper and an aftermarket exhaust will make little difference on your car.

mufflerectomy is defintly the way to go, a good muffler shop will do it for you in 45-60 minutes and charge you about 100 bucks.

I you want quite, stay stock. An aftermarket exhaust won't make any difference in a TDI.

The homepage of the mufflerectomy, which started a revolution. Note that you could add on a resonating tip if you're worried at all about the sound.

By taking just the muffler off ( and leaving the cat on) the sound difference is minimal, it just sounds a little deeper and you can hear the turbo a little more. it is not loud by anyones standards.

                  Does it affect fuel consumption?
