  • Small Leak

So here is the problem. I have a small leak in my radiator, its small, but constant. I don't want to have to replace my radiator because I am a student and frankly can't afford it right now. I bought a stop leak agent, but it appears that my year of jetta, 1994, GL 2.0L, does not have a radiator cap leading directly into the radiator itself. The stop leak agent says not to apply to coolant resevoirs. I would also prefer to not have to detach the upper hose to add it that way, as its more of a mess then I need right now. Is there any way around this or am I hooped and need to buy a new radiator.

    Cheers!

    Re: Small Leak

Don't put stop leak in your car unless you want a plugged heater core. I would isolate the leak and get Permatex quick solder radiator repair kit and stop the leak untill you save your loonies to get another rad. Altrom Radiator WITH A/C (628x377mm) 1HM 121 253 R $258.90. You can get Permatex quick solder radiator repair kit from part source or any aftermarket auto parts store.

I just wanted to say thankyou for the headsup on the stop leak. I am heading to part source tomorrow to pick up that product you referred to stop the leak. Thanks again and have a great thanksgiving.
