Didn't know vag let you set idle - I had to use vtune.

Vag-com works great for raising idle!
With engine warmed up, running, but at idle:
[Select]
[01 engine]
[Adaptation - 10]
Enter channel 01 (Channel 02 for TDI engines)
Enter an adaptation value between 124 and 132
[Save]
124 is 720rpm and I think 132 is 875 (ish) rpm. You'll have to find a happy spot that you like
