Reasons to choose the Jetta over the Golf are:

- You prefer how the Jetta looks

- You want a "New Jetta" (the new Golf/GTI is not out yet)

- You find a better priced Jetta
(they are a bit more common than Golfs in Canada)

- You can't find the option package you want on a Golf/GTI


I drive a Jetta, in retrospect I would rather have had a Golf, but I still like the Jetta, they are basically the same car.

MK4 to MK4 yes the same car indeed, the golf has the slight advantage due to cargo space, but IMO the MK5 is superior in every aspect, and with the the market as strong as it is right now it is soooo hard to find a good CPO tdi golf or Jetta i mean for the price that they retail for you can almost get a new one.
