    Any possability of an ESP retrofit in an '01 Jetta? Or would a new car be cheaper?

      s'what i figured... i just had a loaner over the weekend, and that esp works pretty good whilst hydroplaning and accerating around wet corners.

              can you turn the ASR off? cause ya... unless its icey, anything that cuts power is not so cool. Great on ice though! How cheap is cheap?

                I think there was a top-gear when they did a track test with ESP on and off and they got better times with the ESP on! Except it took them a while to get used to it kicking in.

                  yes you can turn asr off, the switch is in the dash.

                    Yeah, it can really help with cornering at higher speeds I found, as long as you don't take your foot off the gas. It wont do much while you are coasting. Would be a nice addition to me jetta.. but im thinking more and more that it just ain't worth it.
