go to portugal and spain and try driving the way you do here. you will get shot. **** if you drive like 99% of the people do here in south africa, especially on the highway to durban or the cape you will get run off the road. the left lane in these countries is not for driving in. its for passing in. if you aren't passing a car and some guy comes up behind you, you better get the hell out of the way. my dad said he saw someone actually nudging along a car in front of him with the front of his merc in portugal. the guy in front wasn't passing a car fast enough.
even if you are passing a car, if you see a car coming up a lot quicker behind you, let them pass both you and the car you want to pass and then pass the slower car. otherwise you start the bottleneck.

i have driven in SA, germany and the UK, USA, Mexico and Canada. i have to say the north american countries are the worst, bar for Mexico cause there you go fast enough to not get shot

When I was pulled over, I was going 105mph in a 55mph zone. The cop car passed me and I was pulled over before he had a chance to turn around and officially pull me over. I got off with a ticket for 5mph over. Looking back at the event, I realized how lucky I was that something bad didn't happen because I could've lost control somehow, or I could've gotten arrested. That being my first time being pulled over, I showed remorse and somehow I got out of it with a $126 fee. I too felt invincible going fast, and my accident opened my eyes to how dangerous cars really are. Needless to say, I love to drive and I have a new understanding for the safety of VW's.

I still believe in "flash to pass", too many people think its ignorant to come up behind some one and flash twice....If people would understand and use it like a tap on the shoulder, it would be great....

i flash sometimes usually i stick my hand up and make a rolling forward motion which is probably more ignorant lol

ha ha i thought i was the only one who did the "roll along buddy" sign! i too like the flash to pass. the problem is most people take it offensively like you're insulting their driving or something. there's too many people out there who like to put a stop to speeding on their own. ever had the guy who sees you commin' up in the left lane and they change to slow you?

who invented flash to pass?? what you're supposed to do is get up behind the person and turn on your left blinker and go as left as possible in your lane...
