Was that with the tune you big dirty swede or after? That's impressive!!

Best i got for a tank in the tdi was to chilliwack so just shy of 900km but i was driving through the night and cruising @ 110-130km/hr

Last time i went to great canadian in the mk1 tractor I filled up before leaving calgary by COP and topped up in Kamloops with 33L of fuel. It was 606km with those little 13" go kart wheels lol. (5.4L /100KM)

I don't mean to call you out like this but i'm calling BS on you even getting close to 6.5l/100km even coasting downhill let alone on a highway.

in my old mk3 vr6 i would be lucky to see 400 in town, best i ever got on the hiway was 700 doing 115 kph.

^pretty much the same. 4.7 for me. But the car had 3 adults and a child in it with a loaded trunk and Thule carrier on the racks. Made it from Sundre to abbotsford. Probably could have coasted into Vancouver even but I was too scared.

Yeah I can honestly say if I cruise between 110-125 kph I can get over 1200 kms to one tank on my heavily modded TDI with both me and my wife in it. Funny how modding the diesel got me better mileage than stock

Enough to get me by, however i do estimate my hp numbers above a typical tdi's 150whp

                                Re: Gas Milage!!

Didn't even realize this was that old. Thought it was odd for Lars to be posting about a trip I knew wasn't taken recently haha.

Yea since my trip in the Tdi I have out in a 1.8t pancake pipe, cut out the cat and resonater and even my Intown calculations have been better. Looking forward to doing a tune with Malone and egr delete in the future to see what kind of mpg increase I get. In town I was getting 650-725km to tank before the full up light came on. Now with the mild changes i madeI get about 700-775. And that's just regular driving I don't really drive for best mpg.

I also usually run husky or the shell v-power diesel if I can.

If Robg reads this do your remember what your highest mpg was when you owned the jetta out of curiosity?
