Yes there are a few posts about this engine kind of going around, I think its being built up in Greece. It has so many cool things on it... the guy must be pretty rich to afford it all.
Looks like it maybe in a MK2 too? I have seen alot of TDI tunning parts comming out of croatia and area lately, I wonder why if this is just starting to trickel over now.

was speaking to someone who had intimate knowledge about the setup and who was doing the tuning. long and short of it was the car wont put down 1000hp anywhere not even a dyno. this wasn't spouted by someone who internet raced it was said by someone who knew a hell of a lot more than many of us about turbo's and these kind of big # setups and works for a large tuning company.

I'd need to know why he/she thinks so, this setup has the potential.
on paper, search vwdov.ca for this exact topic and you will have a load of information why the setup wont actually work in the real world. there were a few very informative posts made in that thread regarding the setup.
sure 1000hp would be a nice bragging thing, but in reality would be completely useless and impratical in a VW, no matter which setup you dump it into.
i would much rather have a 300whp Mk3 VR that you can daily drive reliably, autocross and still slay on the autobahn/transcanada with. with 1000hp all you are going to be seeing is tire smoke the whole way down the road

I don't think you build a 1000hp engine to DRIVE, I think a shop builds one to show their tuning experience and ability, it's more like a very powerfull and fast advertisement. I don't think someone aiming for 1000hp is planning on "daily driving" it. Dragstrip maybe.
