Joining NVD....second thoughts......

My boyfriend and I were thinking of becoming members of the NVD, but we are now having second thoughts about it. On Saturday we were at Bullshits(Tim Hortons on 52nd), when a sweet Jetta pulled in. We were very excited to go over and see it and talk to the owner. But the not so warm reception from Disturbo(on his license plate), really disappointed us about the club. He was not at all interested in talking to us about his Jetta or anything else for that matter. Just my opinion....BUT..... if you have a nice car and go to events like this to show it off, it would only make sense that you would like to talk about your car to others and be proud of it.
Not saying everyone in the club would have this attitude, but sometimes all it takes is one bad impression.

Well I cannot speak on behalf of Dom (Disturbo) and what was up on Saturday night as I was not there. However I do not think a fair assumption of the club can be made by meeting one person at a late night non-club event. The only way to get a fair view of the club is to spend some time on the boards and come out to one of our meets. Our next official club meeting will be thursday September 1st if you would like to stop by.

For starters you are probably starting off giving a bad impression of yourself as this forum and most others are against street racing especially the "Bullshits"... If you want to race someone, hit the track. There was a large event on from 4-10 at Race City that very night.. along with Secret Street every Friday night.

Secondly Dom is usually very friendly, and almost always willing to talk about his car, or others. my guess is you caught him on an off night.. or he could have been tired from being at SCC for most of the day.

Finally, If you are going to place your whole opinion of the club on one member that you met for a few minutes I think thats pretty weak on your part. If you get to know people and still hold that same opinion so be it!

Werd. I would also liketo add that just because somebody decides to do their ride up it doesn't mean they want to talk about it all the time with random strangers. Most people do their car up for themselves and could care less what anyone else thinks about it.

First off I would like to say welcome!

And like the other guys have said you most likely caught him on an off night (we all have them). But don’t be so quick to judge the club, I can honestly say this is a great club to be part of… friendly people, always willing to lend advice and a helping hand. So head out to a meet and see for yourself… I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Yes I think that you should give us a better chance and maybe come to a meet or out for coffee, most of us are pretty nice. In my experience Dom is a nice guy too, but you can't always expect someone to be in a good mood and just chat with a stranger, sometimes people are busy or having a bad day or on their way somewhere etc.

GENERALLY Timmies is/was the meeting place for the street races.. and Bullshits is where most would meet up to '********' about your ride and then go race.....
I have been there quite a few years back, so I do know what its all about. All I'm saying is that I wouldnt publically brag about going there, as not many public forums support it, and I believe at some point Police were monitoring certain forums that discussed them, and we dont need that here.

I would hope people aren't racing in the parking lot....
