    Re: remote starter

In my opinion I wouldn't recommend remote starters for late model VW's. I have seen too much funky crap happen. As for affecting your warranty...Let's just say it's a grey area...

No problem Judy, I like to see HAPPY VW owners. not discruntled ones. It's been few and far between lately but i know things will turn around. It's always darkest before the dawn!

So far, So good No more Warranty Work! Perhaps I won't have anymore bugs in my car that need to be worked out.

Hey Dave Quick Question my passenger side automatic door lock is not sitting flush like it used to. Is this a common problem/ Should i start to be concerned about it?

              Thanks

I noticed the same thing after I took my doors apart to put speakers in. Didn't think much of it, could have been like that after I had my windows fixed (dropped into the door) a few weeks before, but I didn't look for it before I had them apart. It is definately not flush like the other doors anymore though.

                  Re: remote starter

See Jeff it is only my passenger door that is doing it with the locks and I thought what a weird thing to have happen.

All my other doors are fine though.

Its only my front passenger door too. Sorry that wasn't clear.

                        Re: remote starter

I looked into installing one on my 5 speed and I was told that it would void my warrantee if anything should go wrong with the electrical later on. I was also shocked to discover that they were gonna charge me HUGE bucks (like $600) just for installation! (and that wasn't even at the dealership)

Not sure if they were trying to rip me off or what, but I just said forget it.

It's just an all around bad idea.
