Just did this. Have to remove battery, Bumper, and right Headlight. Easiest. I can give you hand if you want. Took me about 1.5 hours with limited tools. Also a warning is that the filter gets really wet down there when it rains.

Okay, I just got the whole thing done, and installed....car works, everything is chill...BUT......two lights turned on on my HUD. The A with the circle around it (Don't know the technical term for it) and the check engine light.

The MAF censor is reattached...but I think I may have put the piece on backwards...lol...would this effect it at all??

I also actually feel like there is less power than before...not quite as much punch.

You don't really have to do the headlight, but I guess after the bumper its 4 more bolts....I didn't even take the bumper off the last time I did mine and it took 15 minutes total....There is a small shield piece behind the headlight that does have to be removed and stay out, that creates enough space to pass the tube through...I broke mine out by accident, but no big deal.....

EDIT; just read the reply....not too sure what the A is, is it the ASR light?? not sure why that would light.....Recheck your connections, there shouldn't be an issue at all with it....

There is an extra hose too.... : |
One coming from the front, it origionally connected to the left side of the air-box, right in front of the main intake...what's the deal?

You can see it there, right below the main intake hose....what is that, and where the frick do I connect it?

secondary air pump hose, you just need a small breather filter (can be bought at any cunuck tire, parts source, etc.), fit it in there and use a small black zip tie to tie the hose onto the other vac lines running in close proximety....I don't have any pics of my engine bay, so sorry if my explanation sucks....

Okay...that should be fine. How about the loss in power and the ASR + check engine light? Would that be from not having that filter....or maybe cuz I have that censor on backwards...or something else

likely possibly a loose connection, I think you can only plug that in one way, but I have never taken mine off before.......As for the loss in power, I don't know what to say about that, I may have noticed a small loss in 'low end' power, which some say is made up in high end power....it may just be all psycosomatic though...

Loss in power is probably the CAI... Only half kidding. VW is not the best car for a CAI, although it can reduce intake temps, it also causes air turbulence and can cause MAF problems etc.
