  • Does your ATF look like this?

Then it's time to come see Dave at SCFC and I'll make it look like this..

If you have an AG4 trans, You need to change the fluid. Call 255-6681 and make an appointment to see Dave. The service is about $240. for a full synthetic flush. NVD members get a smokin 10% off too!

This has been a public service anouncement.

holy crap. How many km's were on that tranny?

...and I thought it was fairly normal for auto tranny fluid to be a bit dark after a few temperature cycles?

no it should be always red, black means time to change, it takes lot of kms to make it that black and worn tranny would do it too.

VW/Audi shouldn’t tell their customers their ATF is life-time fluid. It really fools many people. Regularly change out the ATF is necessary.

72k on this vehicle. I really recommend this service. VW Automatics are fairly sketchy if not maintained.

What about the manual trans, is it supposed to be life-time fluid? Does it need to be changed at some point as well.

Lifetime only means lifetime of your warranty. I would do fluid changes on manuals too.

Just curious how much that costs? I got about 160,000 on my car and I doubt it's ever been changed. I think someone took a chunk out of the reverse gear too so that's probably floating around in there somewhere (well, probably attached to the magnet but still).

.50 t.u. ($44.50) plus cost of fluid. (depends on what fluid you prefer)

I asked dealer to flush mine with the gm syncromesh stuff - worked good.

I'd like to get my Audi in for a MTF change. I have the fluid (redline MT90), So you figure it's about $50 bones labor?

That was my tranny fluid in the pic.

I must say it is well worth the cash for this ATF change. My tranny was shifting a little rough for quite some time so I decided to take it in to see Dave and get him to fix it up for me.

Worth every penny. Now it shifts nice and smooth through every gear.

                        Thanks again Dave.

Don't know about Audi labour times.. it could be though.
