nope 3000 is fine.. when i bought my car i shifted at 3k all the time for engine break in but i got into the habit of doing it so i pretty much always shift around 3k and anything over 70km/hr rock 5th gear..

if you drive like this you'll easily see 550km+ per tank of 91 or 93 octane gas

every once in a while its good to give it some gas tho and get it up to 6000+ i do it oh the odd week or month lol

I usually blast the snot out of the engine once per tank. Otherwise, I drive it like a granny Shifting at 3k rpm is just fine! With all the torque available, there's no problem shifting it at 2.5k!!

I tend to bog out my buddy's honda all the time, because it doesn't like shifting into 2nd gear when I'm only at 2k rpm (and cruising at 50km/hr in 5th gear is a no-no in a honda, whereas my 1.8T can handle it just fine!)

I love the bottom end in these cars. Torque and wicked top end. I have had mine going on 4 months and I still stall it once and a while. I have been driving stick for over 20 years. 2 nd gear 5000 rpm 100 kph and it gets there in no time. I don't drive like this all the time but if I want to get around some old fart driving a Buick or get out of the way of a crazy Sunfire driver the power is there. I also like walking away from the type "R" Hondas on the highway when you drive a 1.8T the "R" on a Honda means "Rear". Now that I have probably p*ssed off the Sunfire drivers and Honda drivers I am going to shut up now.

hey guys one more question...you know how you guys say its good to max it out take it too like 6k rpm every once in a while?
my question is how do you do that?
like do u hold the gas down the whole time (even while chanigng gears) and then keep shifting or do u take it to 6000rpm, let go of the gas shift, and then re-accerlate and do again for next gear?

like wouldnt it b bad for ure car if you took the first gear to 6000rpm??
                      thanks

Let off when you shift. You will have one burnt clutch if you stay on.

If the speed limit is 100 kph you can take the car up to 100 in second gear and get close to 6000, only run for a few seconds don't run for log at that high of an rpm 3 rd and 4 th at 6000 rmp is quite fast. The first couple times it should be someplace where there is not much traffic and you can watch your tach more than the speedo. Do a quick shift as to not loose much rpm. These cars will tach out quick so don't keep your food in it or you will be doing 180 kph before you know it.

oh so its the same thing as normal driving like instead of shifting at like 3k u shift at 6k? i see

and also is it okay to take it to 6k in first gear? wouldn't you be going way too fast for that gear?

First is a fast gear and has much torque second is better as you have more time to keep an eye on the tach, first will get to 6000 fast and I find it to be a hard shift. When we were out in my car and I did that quick shift and said "That was quite harsh." that was first to second at around 5500. The car really lurches, second to 3rd is a smoother shift at higher RPMs.
