  • C1 short shifter adjust?

I had it installed at C1 when I got it, was 20 mins labor I think. Anyways I'd like to switch to 20% instead of 40% just to see the difference, do I need to unhook the thing or do you just move it from one post to another? I've seen the install/clips and don't want to do it myself if it involves the entire install procedure again.

Geoff, I found it easier to take the whole shifter off because of the fact you have to thread out the pin, and re-thread it into the 40% position....I did a cable re-adjust after too, but it was off by so little, I wouldn't really worry about it....

I did my Diesel Geek ss kit, took me about 15 minutes. It's harder to remove your airbox than it is to put in the ss kit, honest.

Hrm alright - maybe I'll give it a shot. I just have the 1 car so I don't want to be stranded. Thx

I'm in your neighbourhood I think, near the Children's hospital. If you can't get it installed for some reason, give me a call and I'll come by and install it.

PM me for my phone number

Was pretty busy this weekend, will give it a try one evening this week. Thx Dave - that PDF will help a lot. The only thing I read you have to watch for is to not break the plastic clip on the linkage. Actually interested if my airbox can even be removed without removing my ghetto intake thing.

                    Re: C1 short shifter adjust?

Don't you need to stick a nail in the shifter stock so it doesn't move when you unclip the shifter mech from the cables? The Dieselgeek installation recommended it, and it saves having to adjust anything when hooking things back up. If you pull back your shift boot, and put the shifter in neutral, you'll see a little ear on the stock that lines up with a plate on the body. Stick a slightly bent penny nail in there to keep the shifter lined up when the cables are disconnected. If you don't have any nails lying around and want my factory bent Dieselgeek one, PM me.
