I think that including the VAG group as a whole will be a good addition, there is so much crossover between the products. why wouldnt we want to include those who are passionate about their Audis Porsche's and Lambo's.... okay Lambo might be a stretch but hey you never know.

I'm really starting to think conversations like this (and all of the major discussions involving the club, such as a change of name and focus) should be started and completed in their entirety at meetings. It's way too easy for people to get hostile here and for misunderstandings to lead to all kinds of BS. Discussion forums are great for their immediacy, but the depersonalization can have severe consequences. Also, those who show up at meetings generally have the greatest vested interest in the club's future (realizing that I personally haven't been to a meet in ages, but I have other reasons).

I agree. I may have been hasty in my decision to not renew my membership. I really like the club and the people in it. I guess I'll ride out the wave and see how things progress.

After the last thread was so controversial, I think there will be a proposal that minimizes change. Yes there will be a tiny bit of change but I think things will l ikely stay VW focused since that is what members seemed to want!

I am guessing the club will "officially" open up to Audi cars as well as VW since they are basically the same brand, platform, mechanicals, etc. Even Vortex is VW/Audi. But the look and focus of the site will stay VW with a little pinch of Audi But that is just a guess.

The vote to change the name was overwhelming as everyone saw. There is a short list of options that were suggested by members that are suitable for both VW/Audi. The main issue we all have with the current name is that its confusing because we aren't just about "new" veedubs. Its also very close to clubveedub and there is no point in being named so similarly it just confuses people who are not in the club yet.

There will always be 1 person who dislikes any decision, we can't have a consensus in such a large and diverse club. I am personally hoping everyone gives the changes (if the proposal is approved by paid members) a fair chance before throwing down their hats and quitting in a fit.

Like I said, It's all good. I guess with all the estrogyen in my house (me being the only male with four other women) my body thought it was "that time of the month" Now I actually welcome the idea of Audis "invading" the club. Go figure...
