Yeah, I've got that happening. I've read it's pretty common. Seems to be a grounding problem.

I don't have that problem, but then again I have that useless grounding kit. (ahaha )

What's this grounding kit, how much is it, and where do you get it?

Hey Dubs17 how do you like it so far?
I am thinking of getting one this week...
Other than the phatbox unit what other stuff do I need (mounting kit for mkIV, grounding wire?)

Basically if your grounds are perfect it does nothing, if you have any bad gounds it can make surprising differences.

I still have mine on and I'm convinced it did good things. But I'm not confident enough to actually argue about it.

Bottom line is it's cheap and can't hurt anything.

I love PhatNoise. You only need the actual player, and a mounting kit. Nothing else. Very simple. Also, I don't think that grounding mumbo-jumbo will help my stereo. It seems it is geared more towards engine performance. I didn't have any whine in my speakers before putting PhatNoise in. It's not a big deal. My music's usually too loud to hear any whining anyway.

Hey guys i just got a phatnoise for my birthday... and i went to install it today right... well the harness that i have in my 2001 Jetta isnt the same as the phatnoise harness... the end of the phatnoise harness is round and has 13 holes on the end and the sticker on the end says " CAS-001-AU-15 " and the harness for my Jetta is squar and only has 12 holes... i think... so any ideas on where i can get a new cable?? Email me back please at EntangledNChaos@gmail.com or maybe post it here please... THANKS guys

sounds like you got a phatbox for an audi... some audis have the round connectors. maybe just goto dealer and exchange it for a vw one instead of buying an adapter.
