IMO the name NEWVEEDUB scares away the mkI and mkII vw owners, leaving them to hang out with all the CVD'ers . when i drove my mkII i didn't join the club for that exact reason, and no where on the website did it really say that i was welcomed with my car. Now i know different... but i'm sure some people still feel this way.

Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny.
you guys dont think that this will take away some of the guys and girls that only like VW's? Im only really interested in Volkswagens and not much more (not that i dont think BMW's Benzs or Audis arent nice)
Its not like we're going to stop owning and talking about VW's... I don't think anything will really change except the name at first. Maybe over time we will have some other cars joining up but I don't think anyone will like VW's any less!
I totally can see where someone who is only into VW's would prefer an only VW board, but I think that half or more of those people are CVDers already, and the community is already quite small, and to be honest probably confused by our current name and the fact that there is already a vw club.
I think its more about a core of VW'ers trying to bring the enthusiasm we already have about our cars to a slightly wider audience.
heck in a few years i'll probably own another ricebag and even then i'll still hang out with all you guys cuz your my buds i like the atmosphere and i like helping out and contributing to the community..
The chances of me goin VW for my next car are really slim to nil at this point, I do love my car now but theres alot of other cars I could love too!!
The chances of me goin Euro for my next car are 99% however. Alot of the newer VW guys dont have the brand loyality like the old-schoolers and, with me, VW didnt give me a car that makes me think "i want to drive nothing but VW for the rest of my life" so it would be nice to have a place to post my nonsense when i move on
