A buddy of mine is getting a GM truck, and was told the following for "rust protection" options:
After I laughed at him, he called up Diamond-Kote to get some specifics (although on their website, there is no info...)
Have any of you heard of this?
I talked to the GM dealer about rust protector for my truck plus
protecting my interior.
They told me that for rust protection that they mount an electronic
device in your vehicle which emits ion pulse which stops rust from ever starting on your vehicle. They said that you will never have any rust - Cost $399.00

I called Diamond-Kote directly.
They told me that they install an electronic rust module with anodes in the vehicle. These anodes in conjunction with the modules eliminate rust from occurring. They even mentioned that their product stops rust from starting on even the brake disc...
They are sending me literature in the mail detailing the theory behind the operation of their product. With the module installed you do not need to use chemical rust protector. They also guarantee that rust doesn't occur. If it does, they will fix it ....
