  • Getta/Jolf

I have an opportunity to do this swap, but I am concerned of the resale value. Once this is done, would the Getta be a hard sell? Personally I like the Golf grill and lights better but I am not always "main stream" any way so my preference does not always count.

    Re: Getta/Jolf

Anytime you do any semi-permanent mods such as this one, the re-sale will go down. It's just a matter of perception that people are afraid of cars that have been "muddled" with. I think Getta's and HOT, but your resale will most likely fall.

I'd say it will be a tough sell, unless you can find another enthusiast who wants a Getta!

I really wish people would just call them "Jetta with a golf front end" Or "Golf with a Jetta front end"

no such thing as a getta or a jolf lol. Personally, I think VW put the right fronts on the right vechicles and wouldnt do it, but if you like it I agree that most people wouldn't even notice something like that..and if they ask say its a 'euro version' or something haha

I love my "Golf with a jetta front end" but it's a mk3.

It might hurt your resale, I guess it depends how long you want to keep it. But I agree with some that a lot of people probably wouldn't notice.

yeah, you shouldn't be doing mods anyway if you're concerned with resale!!

Although I'm a big fan of Jolf's more than Getta's!

Most people seem to like the Jetta on the Golf more than the other way around.

James, I understand what you are saying as "Bora" seems to confuse people enough. Since my ride has been rebadged Bora that would make mine a "Gora"

                          Re: Getta/Jolf

Its not so much the act of doing it in the mk3 that I hate, its the words Jolf, Getta and JTI...people who drive a GTI with a jetta front end walk around talking about 'my jti this' and 'my jti that'

THERE IS NO SUCH FREAKING THING haha. If I start calling my car the VW Pimpkraut does that mean its the vw pimpkraut? haha

And on Mk3's I like the jetta end on both the jetta and the golf better

Agreed, nobody will notice, resale would not be affected.

Actually I like the golf front on the Jetta more.
