  • Out With The Old, In With The New

About a year and a bit ago I saw a guy that swapped out his mk3 2.0 intake manifold for a mk4 2.0 intake manifold. After about a year of picking up a piece of what I needed to do for the swap, I finally had everything I needed.

So last night I got the chance to swap them. I can't tell you if it drives any different yet because I have yet to hook up the throttle cable, but there are no leaks, and it idles fine. I will eventually move the battery to the trunk, and put my windshield washer reservoir on the other side of the engine bay. Other than that I think it turned out pretty good.

    Here are some pictures:

And I Got My Very First CEL

Most likely due to not having my MAF or EGR Temp Sensor plugged in, I need to extend the wires to get them to reach. I also need some plugs to replace the tuck tape on the manifold.

Ill post when I get my throttle cable hooked up.

Great idea, now just move the battery to the other side and use that room to make ones of those coffee can intakes (from that other thread and that audi TT site) and you will have a great intake system. I woundn't leave that intake where it is as you are drawing in hot air from right beside the engine.

            Hey,

My plan was to move the battery to the trunk in the near future, but for now I have moved the windshield washer reservoir on the other side of the engine bay, this way I will have room to maybe fit a mk4 2.0 CAI in there, haven’t decided what to do yet.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions,

Not yet, I havn't been able to attach the throttle cable back to the throttle body.

I'll post as soon as I get it hooked up.

Got the throttle cable hooked up, something temporary until I find a permanent solution. Has a much deeper exhaust note, and has much more of a "growl" when in the high rpm's. You can tell that the car is breathing a lot easier. Overall I’m very happy with it.
