  • Brushed Metal kits

    Hey All,
Are the Brushed Metal kits worth it? If yes where did you buy yours? Cost? Were they hard to install? Do they peel off on you at any point in time or are they on there good and strong?

My Passenger side Door handle did get fixed but my trim around heated seat dials has a small ding in it that is bugging me.

I was remember you were all talking about the kits but can't remember where to buy them etc...

If you know of a place here in Edmonton I can check great. My other thought was to call the Guys at Westside Automotive who rock and have been very helpful to me for parts for our old VW Jetta 1982 my friend Nadine now drives.
Nadine now needs to buy Front Springs, Structs and mounts for her car and emergency Brake cable. She pulled up to hard on the cable and bent it. OOPS

Thanks In advance to those who answer my questions about the kits.

    Cordialtea who is a she!

You can get the kits from a couple of different places, I got mine from www.inmetalvw.com. They had very good customer service, and they send it to you as a gift which save on duty charges. There are some pics of my install in the 'Members Rides' section.

I can't speak to the dash trim as I have no experience. For your friend Nadine, I would maybe consider looking into an aftermarket suspension if she needs to replace it. I doubt she's into being "low" or anything like that but I think it would just be a whole lot cheaper than buying OEM, but who knows, just a suggestion. Also, I had the same thing happen with the e-brake cable on my 81 VW, they are cheap ($30 or so) but try and find a decent place to install so they don't hose you on labour, as it's quite an easy job.

        Thanks Jason,
I'll get the E brake cable ordered and get my Husband to install it when he has time. The Parts were really reasonable to westside for the springs , Struts and Strut mounts I think they are called, Anyhow Rob at Westside has totally hooked us up on that stuff. We Checked out Part Source Let me just SAY OUCH for the cost.

If your 82 Jetta is anything like my 84 GTI then you will need 2 ebrake cables.
