i've heard so much of this dreaded topic... and i think i might have finally experiecened it tonight. i was trying to pass someone in 4th so i shifted down into 3rd and and i had my foot on the gas there was a sudden "slip" or like loss of power. almost as if i were in the wrong gear. i noticed at the next set of lights that i had a bit of power in first but 2nd and 3rd were just terrible!! any way i pulled over turned the car off for about a minute, and every thing seemed fine after that. was this limp mode?

Re: was this limp mode?
Sounds like it my friend. When you cycle the key you reset everything as it goes through a "self check" of all the sensors ect... It could have been a "sporatic" fault. Did your engine light come on?Like Type 2's? Visit my blog!

Re: was this limp mode?
Although you didn't throw a CEL I bet it threw a intermittant boost pressure or similar code. I had limp mode a couple times and it was from a couple different things like altitude, temp etc Do you ahve a boost gauge? if so what are you spiking too? I would get a boost valve if you are spiking over 20psi as I think that is what killed my turbo.Name: Brent
