Its funny that you mention this post because yesterday I went for a spin in the aformentioned turbo VR cabbie. He ordered a Kinetics turbo kit for it and installed it last weekend. The kit is apparently good for 250 hp to the wheels. All I can say is the car is badass. I'm pretty sure it would eat my car for breakfast. Kind of hard to say though because it such a different power delivery. Fun as hell though!

I am pretty sure it is 245 to the wheels... Stage 1 non intercooled.

Yeah its only 250 but thats to the wheels. For the $3400 cdn he paid for the kit (not installed) I would say thats pretty cheap bolt on HP. Considering a stock 12V VR puts down about 145-155HP to the wheels, I'd say an extra 100 WHP isn't bad. Regardless, the car Haulled some serious ass!!

Pretty good for low boost-non intercooled. You can find many a mk3 vr6 for not so much money nowadays......hhmmmm.

yeah i know of a TON in vancouver, most of my buddies have one. clay (wolfpack) has his complete MMP kit for sale on the DOV for $6500 or so. damn good price for the power it is going to be putting down.

VRSC's are nice, but its a hell of a lot of $$$ for somthing that doesn't make that much power. it does give the VR a nice little kick in the pants tho.
gonna be doing my timing chains, full brake setup, and new clutch and flywheel in the next few weeks, and then HOPEFULLY do the turbo and intercooler setup this winter.

That will be a great car man. Its kind of funny after having ridden in a Turbo'd VR and then driving my car. Although mine is definately not as fast, I absolutely love the linear power of my car. It seems as though the power just never ends. The higher the revs, the more power she puts out. God I love my car!

                              Cheers
