  • Need Help!!!!

    Hello i am new to the forum. i have a 1986 Golf 2door auto(ya i know i know). and i was just wanting to know what can there be done to it to give it more power? how much hp and tt does it have stock? and my goals are to have 200HP or less. so as much stuff you can i love to hear it all i am new to the Vee dub stuff so i know nothing about them. or so good web sites or anything like that. thanks for your time and help.

    Well, I'm gonna guess that the car has a 1.8l motor in it, which I think tops was 90hp in 1986...you can do pullies for 10-18hp....how far in you want to go depends on the reliability and KM on the car.....Mostly because your gains are gonna come from a forced induction setup....Best bet, if the car is in good shape, do a swap for a newer, larger powerplant...In a MkII I maintain that I would do a G60 stage 4, amidst all the critisism I'm sure to get....Another thing, the auto in that car was fairly weak, so if you want to make any true power, I would swap a 5 speed out of another car, should be fairly simple, just have to mount the pedals and stuff....

      I believe the turbo off of the mk3 Turbo diesel motors swap on but maybe Brian etc over at CVD can give you some sugestions.
