MAF . . . piece of cake

After cleaning my MAF failed to do the trick, I broke down and bought a new one . . . $113. I can't believe how easy a job it was swapping it out. I couldn't figure out why the box was so big, but when I opened it up, I was pleased to see that it came with the housing, which made the job that much easier.

I had my MAF sensor replaced in May for free under a VW extended warranty because they have had lots of problems with them. Is this not the same thing?

yep, same part....except LaDubDude has somewhat severely modified his intake tract so that the warranty may have been voided

thats B.S it's an emmision warranty 7 years 115000 kms nothing to do with
VW..GO FOR A REFUND..
emmision warranties are not offered by volkswagen but by our goverment
which it imposes on the dealerships
modifications or not it has to be honored.

ya, last time i went for service they replaced my MAF just 'cause.

Thanks guys . . . just got back from the dealership and, despite my somewhat unstock intake tract, i got my $$$ back with no probs. It depends on the service advisor i suppose, but i'll have lots to say to the guy who denied me come Monday when he's back to work.
