Re: Strut Tower Brace?
I have a whole bunch that I just have to sort something out for and they will be for sale. They are polished aluminum, adjustable and will be sold at a really good price. I was hoping to get them finished in a day or two.

Re: Strut Tower Brace?
What are they good for? I recall someone on Vortex who did a test on the MK IV platform where he bolted down the one side, and had a piece of paper and a pencil attached via one of the bolt holes on the other side. He went through a slalom of cones, and some hard cornering. He then popped the hood, and there was almost no movement in the strut towers based on the pencil not making any lines on the paper that was beneath it.
Not entirely scientific, but it makes me think there isn't much use for these on a MK IV other than looks when you pop the hood. Simon, I know you autocross, have you been able to notice any difference with the strut brace in place? I recall you also installed a lower strut brace which I recall you said you could notice an improvement. Are the ones you will have for sale the upper or lower braces?

Re: Strut Tower Brace?
Well Simon could measure the amount of flex when he jacked up and lowered Chris' GTI one time so there seems to be some flexing there. The ones he is selling are polished upper ones but he can get you a lower as well for extra firmness. When he races Simon uses an upper, lower and now a upper rear as well and is putting up some great timesBlair

Simon are you still planning on packaging the lower and upper together?
Also is there a rear brace for the Jetta? Think I might have asked that before. Dunno where it would go, maybe there is one that goes under/over the rear deck behind the seats or something?KR

Re: Strut Tower Brace?
I thought the science behind it was that because the strut towers are so close to the firewall, the firewall kind of acts like a strut bar. Although in 10 years once the car has loosened up a bit, then a strut bar will be handy1.8T
Not quite stock anymore...

yes there is one for the rear, it attaches itself through the trunk so it takes up a couple feet of space in the trunk itself.Simon
