  • Going to the darkside- Maybe

Well after much gripping, and 22 Pages of Warranty Work on my Golf I have asked VW Canada to initiate BUY BACK for my Vehicle. I won't know anything for 10 days but when I know something I'll let you all know. If I go to the dark side what do you suggest I buy my next go around?

I know stay away from Domestics like Ford, Mazda, GM, Etc...

Indeed, any Japanese car will give you fewer headaches and sleepless nights. More important is so called ‘less f-ups failures’.

Toyota is supposed to be about the best right now....on the other hand you can get a brand new Honda Civic, some special MP3 edition with nice ground effects, spoiler, alloys, A/C etc. for under 20G's.....I almost picked it up for the GF...

Be realistic gtx. The 22 pages of warranty work do mean a thing to Cordialtea and I think s/he is making a right move to get VW to do something. It is no question that Cordialtea has been in and out of VW dealerships like salmon up the stream during mating season(22 times +) over the years. Is VW paying your time for their faulty cars on the visits? No and never. It is not about your pride on how VW brand means to you. It is about the facts which the member had experienced with their own car.

Are you trying to get people to shut up by naming other BETTER options?

Don’t worry gtx. I will get something else and will never jump into the VW trap again(the dark side).

                    PS.
Cordialtea. I give you my full support and wish you luck on this. I welcome you PM me for second thoughts on things/options. And you are no salmon.

                        Thank you so much B5

GTX - do you think all my Tears and Frustration is worth it?
I have a Car that has been nothing but a headache for me period!
My Car is 2 years old and I have 22 Pages of Warranty Work, Which I can understand if my car was 12 years old Maybe, but 2 YEARS give a break! The Dealerships haven't been helpful at all in FACT Southgate has my DOOR HANDLE passenger side cover which hasn't been put back on, so I'm missing half of my door handle right now!

When I talked to VW Canada they said you have the option of BUY BACK I can Ask them to do and they may do it based on all the waarenty work in 2 years. I have had water leaks, Door seals and running rails have been replaced Twice my list is huge let me tell you.

If they buy back my VW Car yes I'll be sad because I like driving it but the headaches, worry and tears are not worth it over a car!

I'm thinking of a Honda CRV or I Toyota Matrix not sure yet.

MAZDA is Ford No matter how you slice it! I HATE FORD products!

Thanks all for the support I appreciate and those who think I'm nuts that is your opinion, but you are not in my shoes in Edmonton now are you now!

Look at that one guy on this list who's Wife's golf has been broken into a few times He is not happy either.

Hey Bart I'm still waiting to hear back from VW Canada. Edmonton has this organization here that goes after dealerships and car companies for faulty cars they are next on my list for help if Vw bails and tells me too bad. All i can do is ask at this point. If they won't I guess I'm stuck until I have it paid off and can sell privately.

I'm just so frustrated and I hate feeling this way. I never had this problem when I had a GEO Metro which I owned until it died for 7 years. Most Geos only last 4 and then you get rid of them.

Our older Jetta 1982 my friend Nadiner now owns it is going like no tomorrow no problems. Neighbour up the street has a 1990 Jetta gas, standard for sale $950.00 but tons of mileage on it, blue in good body shape. I don't drive a standard I need an automatic.

Trust me I wish I had a bought an older Jetta Diesel now! Anyhow Hopefully this will all work out in the long run.
