I just got my new Magnaflow exhaust and they say to cut after the resonator. Where would the best spot be, just in case i ever have to put the stock system back in

    Re: New exhaust

There are 3 dimples right after the stock exhaust resonator...if you cut in the middle dimple, you can use a clamp (OEM ) later on if you need to put it back together.

Well it's in, Sounds pretty cool. My wife is going to hate it but, oh well.
It's pretty loud between 2200and 2800 rpm (maybe because it's a VR) but if you keep it below 2200 or above 3000 it sounds good.
mind you it only sounds loud on the inside. When the wife left for work this morning it sounded HOT HOT HOT!!!!

It will tone down in a few weeks (and you get used to it). I had same thing, incl angry wife but now it's totally fine.

Hrm it was awhile ago - maybe 499? 599? It was a slight promo from c1 for being the first test monkey and came with dynos so I was happy. You can order them cheaper from the states (350 US) but shipping/duty makes it even up. Plus because I bought it local, when it blew a gasket they fixed it for free.

Edit: My original review with pics/dyno:

So 500 cdn, plus maybe about 70 broker/duty/GST if it's via UPS. That's what I got hit with for my ~300 dollar shocks. If they ship FedEx it's less - maybe 30? (35 for my ~300 dollar springs - don't ask) Still under 600 bucks, not a bad deal at all IF you're not going to go more than a chip for mods. If so, get something bigger (2.5)

not sure what you mean by this, I was under the impression that the magnaflow exhaust was one of the best... although it is a 2.25inch

I think he may think you have a Turbo, but on a VR the magnaflow is nice. Derek (Ginch) runs one sounds and looks great!

                          Re: New exhaust

I just meant from my reading before purchase, that a 2.25 works great on stock turbo and vr6 - but if you are going to upgrade to a bigger turbo in the future, get a 2.5 now. There is lots of debate if 2.5 is any better for stock, but no real clear evidence, so I have 2.25 in my 1.8. And the before/after dynos show it is fine. Factory is 2.18 I believe.

You have to be careful because when boxes get large USPS will not handle them so you then UPS becomes the main choice. What about an Autotech system from Simon?
