  • MKIV headlight housing

I was replacing a bulb on my passenger side light, and it was a bit stubborn. I heard an oh-so-unhealthy pop(not a snap, a pop so I don't THINK anything is broken). And the headlight assembly came loose inside the housing. The larger light side appears to be the culprite. Has ANYONE taken a headlight apart before? Any idea what piece I have to snap back in place and where it might be located?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Not sure what you've popped out of place, but the headlight assy is pretty simple for these cars. If you need to get in there, take the light out, pop it in the oven for 10mins and bobs your uncle.

Go to Vortex and search for "Joey Headlight Mod" and there should be a bunch of different threads showing exactly how to take apart / put together your headlights

If you take the headlight out of the car and pop the back covers off you should be able to see how it held on without having to take the front lenses off. I think its like 3 little ball joints, they snap in, or out in your case.

Like he said but you can also take a strong string and thread it under teh portion that poped out adn pull it back in place. I had to do this with my when I did the joey mod because I forgot to atach that part prior to reassembling the headlight. It is held to the backnig piece with two screws your adjustmant screws and a ball joint type thing I am pretty sure it is the ball joint as it makes a loud pop sound when you take it apart. Good Luck and I hope this helps.
